Sometimes taking these medications before eating acidic or spicy foods can help to eliminate symptoms altogether, but in some cases is still experienced and more medication needs to be taken after the meal. Consider making sure a bottle of tablets are kept with you at all times, so they’re available when you need them.

Remember that symptoms can manifest from drinking fruit juices, coffee or even soda. Many people don’t keep this in mind, and as a result are not prepared to combat the they end up experiencing.

Your other option is to use a prescription medication, such as Nexium. Prescription medications are generally safe and can even help to repair any damage you have suffered from to date. It’s something that should be discussed with your doctor who can help you determine the best plan of action to combat your symptoms.
